The men and women of our Armed Forces have not only served our country courageously, they have developed the skills and discipline that employers in the construction industry are looking for. However additional training is often necessary to compete for high-paying entry-level positions, particularly in heavy equipment operations.

The primary goal of the Heavy Equipment College of California’s Heavy Equipment Operations training is to prepare you with the skills, knowledge, and credentials needed to get a great job in the heavy equipment and construction industry.
Through field training and classroom activities, we prepare students to immediately and effectively work on the construction jobsite. This training includes instruction in the most commonly used heavy equipment and cranes, as well as equipment maintenance and safety operations. You’ll also learn to read blueprints, evaluate soil conditions, and apply general math principles for calculating volume and weight. These are the skills that will set you apart from the pack.
We offer the following three week programs:
- Heavy Equipment Operations
- Level One Heavy Equipment Operations
- Level Two Crane Operations
Graduates from the Heavy Equipment College of California’s Heavy Equipment Operations program are eligible for a variety of jobs in construction and aggregate industries, including equipment operation, crane operation, site preparation and management, excavation, utilities and under ground, trenching, road construction, airport construction, and commercial and residential construction.
